It’s the third Saturday of May, which means the Preakness Stakes will be held at the Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland today! The event is an American Grade I stakes race 1-3/16 mile (1.91 km) thoroughbred horse race for three-year-old horses.

Many, especially at the Pimlico Race Course, are drinking to it with the Black-Eyed Susan – a cocktail that is the official drink of the Preakness Stakes horse rase.

The Preakness Stakes are scheduled to start at 4.30 p.m. local time, which is just a few hours away.

Super Save is considered a favorite now and Lookin At Lucky is following the super Saver very closely with Super Saver at 5-to-2 and Lookin At Luck at 3-to-1. Northern Giant is far behind the two with 33-1 whereas Yawanna Twist is 25-to-1.

Jockey Club, the club which has organized the racing, is hoping and promising that the racing event will appeal the tens of thousands of on-site viewers after media persuasion. Social network websites such as Twitter are already going wild in anticipation for the horse race.
