Universities across the nation are on alert. They basically have been on top of their game dating back as far as Columbine but certainly back to the mass murdering spree at Virginia Tech in 2007. Now, with a Virginia lacrosse player dies taking the headlines, it means that one university is left to cope with the ugly side of it all which essentially is murder. Yeardley Love is the latest victim.

Love was a 22-year-old university of Virginia lacrosse player and apparently at one time had a romantic relationship with a another 22-year old lacrosse player from the men’s team. The news of this murder has stunned the community, the university and the world. Hearing that a Virginia lacrosse player dies is just one more reason why parents must continue to protect their children well into college. George Huguely is going to need as much protection now as anyone.
The cause of death has yet to be determined but an autopsy will be performed and should help authorities figure out how she died. That report may be helpful in making a case against Huguely for the actual murder. Although Huguely spoke out in defense of the Duke lacosse team’s misfortunes, he doesn’t appear to have a criminal record of his own. However, he is definitely standing front and center in the Virginia lacrosse players death right now.
